Moncofar stands out as a holiday destination where you can enjoy a quiet time by the sea and take advantage of the great variety of exciting activities found on its fine sandy beaches.

In spite of being sparsely populated, Moncofar’s commitment to tourism has been proved by the residential development of the beach and the wide variety of leisure activities and services on offer. Namely, it is possible to do different water sports and take part in the numerous leisure activities taking place there.

The coastline is just one km from the town centre and it features beaches such as Pedrarotja, Grao, Masbó, Belcaire, Benjesma and Estanyol. The excellent quality of Moncofar beaches is shown on the transparent blue waters of the entire coastline and in its outstanding services, adapted for reduced mobility visitors. Moncofar’s coastline is the ideal place to go sailing, surfing and diving, amongst numerous water sports.

Moncofar is sea, Moncofar is beaches, it is sunbathing, listening to the gentle lapping of the waves breaking on the shore as you feel the sea breeze on your face. It is the time to let the senses take control. Moncofar features different beaches on its 6 km coastline, you can find 16 small beaches ranging from smooth shingle to fine sand, from residential beaches like Pedraroja to beaches specializing on water sports like Grau and Masbó or the quiet beaches of Belcaire, Beniesma and Estanyol where you can enjoy its crystal clear waters surrounded by nature in peace and silence.

Activities


A few kilometres from Moncofar lies Vall d’Uixo, where San José Caves can be found. An underground river forms a natural cave of unparalleled beauty. Visiting the longest navigable underground river in Europe will allow you to explore the depths of the earth: a boat ride along the still water river where you will be able to admire the spectacular rock formations shaped by the action of water over thousands of years, go back in time imagining the slow growth of stalactites and stalagmites, listen to the murmuring waters and the echo of dripping water on an underground lake and discover a beautiful landscape which nature has kept hidden since the dawn of time.

A thousand flavours, a thousand tastes. Moncofar’s cuisine is characterized by the wide variety of products and the unlimited cooking and preparation techniques. It is based on the freshness of its products both from the sea and from the mainland, which is its quality hallmark.

A great deal of vegetables are grown on Moncofar’s orchards, such as tomatoes, onions, beans, lettuce, broad beans, peppers and aubergines. Melons are also worthy of notice, All-year melon and Alger melon are delicious renowned varieties in the town, known in markets as “Moncofar melons”.
